I know that parts of East and North Africa such us Abyssinia , Egypt and Libya had a very huge portion of Judaism followers. Infact I read somewhere that the Ethiopian Abysinians followed Judaism for 1000 years before the birth of Christ. It was introduced to them by their Queen of Sheba who ,according to the bible visted king Solomon . I am not sure about the remote areas of africa..As they had little contact with the outside world, they mostly were pagans..
