My husband and I discovered this wine several years ago and we've been buying it ever since. We originally bought it because the maker of the wine is, Francis Ford Coppola, the director of the movie, The Godfather. We thought this wine would just be a novelty sold because of his name, but it's actually good wine!
Francis Ford Coppola Winery Rosso is a red wine made from a variety of grapes in California. Since it's made with mixed grapes, it's not just merlot, or just cabernet, etc. It runs about $10.00 in the stores, and has been for as long as I've been buying it. When we serve this wine to guests, they always love it and ask what kind of wine it is. I then explain that it's made by the director of The Godfather and everyone usually says, "oh, I didn't know he made wine." Apparently, wine is a family business, and the Coppola's have been doing it for a long time.
I love Francis Ford Coppola Winery Rosso. The flavors are great and it's not too flat, like a merlot or too spicy. It's just right!
