HS 118 ? Marijuana Gateway to Health with Clint Werner - Holistic ...

Welcome! If this is your first time visiting Jason Hartman's website, please read this page to learn more about what we do here. You may also be interested in receiving updates from our podcast via RSS or via email if you prefer. If you have any questions about financial survival feel free to contact us anytime! Thanks!

It is commonly known that cannabis (marijuana) helps with glaucoma and the side effects of chemotherapy. What isn?t widely known is that our bodies possess an endocannabinoid system, which regulates almost every system of our health. The phytocannabinoids produced in marijuana are very similar in molecular structure to the cannabinoids that our bodies produce. Author Clint Werner joins Jason Hartman to discuss studies that have proven the health benefits of marijuana, including for the treatment of Alzheimers, protecting the health of diabetics and fight the spread of breast cancer cells. Clint talks about the demonizing of marijuana that started in the ?30s by Federal agents and a journalist spreading ?reefer madness? throughout the country. He also discusses needed reforms. Other facts about marijuana include protecting the brain by reducing inflammation and by stimulating the production of healthy new brain cells and reducing the risk of chronic, long-term smokers for developing lung cancer. Additionally, Clint talks about the differences between strains of marijuana grown in various climates and conditions, including indoors in artificial light versus outdoors in sunlight; the health benefits of THC; smoking versus vaporization; and the numerous forms in which it is available, such as tinctures and salves.

Clint Werner has degrees in journalism and library science and has worked in the field of preventive health care for over 25 years. He studied macrobiotic cooking and practice in Boston in 1985, relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where he co-authored the San Francisco Police Department?s health and fitness plan in 1987 and worked teaching AIDS, cancer and heart disease patients how to improve their health with diet and lifestyle changes. His writing has appeared in the book Cannabis Therapeutics in HIV/AIDS, the Journal of Cannabis Therapeutics, Macrobiotics Today, Canine Chronicle, the San Francisco Sentinel and other publications. Clint has been named ?Activist of the Month? for June by NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

Understanding What A Personal Bankruptcy Means For You | How ...

Feeling sad and frustrated are a couple of the many emotions people feel when going through bankruptcy. Those who file bankruptcy worry they will be stuck and unable to pay their bills and still live their lives everyday. This article will show you some of the best ways to cope with having to file bankruptcy.

Be persistent in researching information about filing for bankruptcy and consult a qualified personal bankruptcy attorney. You may be able to regain property like electronics, jewelry, or a car if they?ve been repossessed by filing for bankruptcy. If the property you own has been repossessed under 90 days before the bankruptcy filing, you may still be able to get it back. Consult with a lawyer who can advise you on what you need to do to file a petition.

Always weigh your options carefully prior to deciding to dive head first into filing a bankruptcy claim. Those with smaller debts may find use in a program for consumer credit counseling. Some creditors will work with you to help you pay off your debt with lower interest rates, lower late fees, or an extended loan period.

Be certain you are totally aware of the laws of bankruptcy before you file. You should not transfer your assets to anyone in the year preceding your bankruptcy filing. Also, it is illegal to load up your credit cards with debt right before filing occurs.

After you?ve filed for bankruptcy, it is important to begin building your credit score by obtaining a credit card. This is hard if you have bad credit, but using a secured credit card is something that you could do. These cards often charge very high rates, but you are likely to pay a higher rate, regardless of the source of your credit. You will be more likely to get new loans or credit facilities when you have a new credit line established.

Ask those you know if they have an attorney to recommend, instead of finding one on the Internet or in the phone book. Companies are constantly popping up, claiming to help, yet only seek to profit from your misery. In ensuring that your bankruptcy is as simple as possible, trusting your attorney makes a big difference.

A great personal bankruptcy tip is to reconsider getting a divorce, if you?re finding yourself in a tough financial situation. It is not uncommon for individuals to seek a divorce only to immediately file for bankruptcy due to unforeseen financial difficulty. It is always wise to think twice about divorcing.

If you are planning to file bankruptcy, avoid taking large cash advances from credit cards thinking that the debt will be erased. This is fraud, and you will be required to pay that money back.

In the event your bankruptcy case gets dismissed due to your own error, it is possible to re-file. This should be done within a month after filing, as automatic stay expires after this. It is possible to get an extension of the stay if you are able to prove to the judge that there was a good reason for your mistake and for your filing again.

Do not use the word ?shame?, if you go bankrupt. Filing for bankruptcy leads people to feel all sorts of emotions like shame, guilt and feeling irresponsible. These feelings, however, are of no benefit to anyone, and they can be detrimental to your mental health. Remembering to stay positive as you go through financial difficulties is a great way to deal with your bankruptcy filing.

See if your attorney can help you lower your payments if you want to keep your vehicle. Sometimes, as part of the bankruptcy filing, your auto loan can be restructured so that you pay less each month. For instance, you can get lower payments on you car if you purchased it before filing and took a loan with high interests on it.

After reading, you can see you do have options available, and bankruptcy does not signal the end of the world. It may be hard in the beginning; however, you can get past bankruptcy. Take the information that has been provided here to you and you can turn this situation around for the positive.

Did you think you?d learn this much information about financial markets today? With this information available to you, begin using it. The great information you?ve learned should start paying off in leaps and bounds. Hopefully this will make you want to learn more.

The House Republicans? Primal Scream

158618189 Speaker John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on New Year?s Day, 89 senators finally passed a cobbled-together deal to avert the ?fiscal cliff.? The big House Republican meet-up, the one that could end America?s least favorite epic drama, would come at 1 p.m. Reporters welcomed 2013 with cheap champagne in the Capitol rotunda.

Then, shortly after noon, while Vice President Joe Biden was telling House Democrats to back the bill, Republicans were telling reporters to check their optimism. This was not the come-to-Jesus meeting to whip votes. This would be a ?conversation,? a Festivus-like airing of grievances. Some time later, the Republican conference would meet to talk about passing the bill. When would they vote on it? Ask again later.

The worries were justified. Inside the conference, as Speaker of the House John Boehner stayed neutral, member after member got up to denounce the deal. Majority Leader Eric Cantor warned that he did not support the bill in its current form. ?When the leader speaks,? said one Republican member, ?people listen more closely.? His defiance meant a lot more than some panicky Senate votes.

?We should not take a package put together by a bunch of octogenarians on New Year's Eve,? said Ohio Rep. Steve LaTourette inside the meeting. After he left the room, Georgia Rep. Jack Kingston joked that the deal passed only because ?it was way past those senators? bedtimes and they had blurry eyes when they were reading? it. House Republicans? Why, they were ?trying to fill in the gaps they might have missed.?

Time and again, Washington is shocked by two incredibly well-known facts about House Republicans. One: They believe all of that stuff they tell their conservative audiences, from the town halls to the Sean Hannity remote feed. They ran in 2010 promising never to raise taxes and to take a samurai sword to the budget. Whatever Paul Ryan asked them to cut, they voted to cut. Two: Most of these members come from safe districts where the only threats to re-election are primary challenges or death by natural causes.

And yet they?re never, ever allowed to govern the way they want. Assume that they end up caving and passing a fiscal cliff compromise?this compromise, which punts the mandatory sequestration cuts from defense and discretionary spending, which ends the payroll tax cut and restores a higher tax rate on income above $450,000. If that happens, then for the third time in two years they?ve punted on huge spending cuts and entitlement reform, told once again that they can get them later.

Thus, the hours-long primal scream. When he left the afternoon meeting, Alabama Rep. Spencer Bachus said that the deal would have to be amended to include more spending cuts, which meant that it would go back to the Senate?he?d be ?shocked? if it didn?t?which in turn meant that it would be doomed by Democrats who refused to entertain more changes. Wouldn?t that backfire on Republicans? ?Sooner or later,? said Bachus, ?you have to think that out-of-control spending is going to doom the markets.?

Bachus had to say that. In 2012, he held back a primary challenge from a Republican who?d run to his right, branding him a crooked compromiser. ?Never has the anger in this country been so great,? said Bachus in his victory speech. ?I can certainly identify with those who voted for someone else.?

You identify with it, or you lose. Consider the let-downs that conservatives had to put up with. In February 2011, they wanted to pass a continuing resolution to fund the government, with $100 billion in cuts. But the cuts, as presented to them by leadership, were based on old budget baselines. Some conservatives wanted to shut down the government. Their leaders convinced them to cave, because it would ruin their image. The savings earned after bitter negotiations were about half as big as promised.

Colts beat Texans in coach Pagano's return

NFL
Colts head coach Chuck Pagano points toward the crowd as he leaves the field after his team beat the Houston Texans in Indianapolis yesterday. It was Pagano?s first game back since announcing in September that he had been diagnosed with leukemia. (Reuters)

TORONTO?-?

Last Monday, at the end of his first day back to work after a season-long battle with leukemia, Chuck Pagano walked out of his office and flipped a switch to extinguish the lights.

It was the first time those lights had been turned off since the Colts head coach announced his diagnosis to the team in September, handing over the coaching reins to offensive coordinator Bruce Arians while he under went treatment.

Arians had asked that the lights remain on in Pagano?s office until the head coach himself returned to the team.

?Only if you?re cut from the cloth that Bruce is cut from, the type of man he is, would you come up with something like that,? Pagano said on Sunday. ?When I walked out of that office on Monday evening and turned that light off for the first time in over three months, it was like victory.?

Sunday?s showdown between the Colts and the favoured Houston Texans, Pagano?s first game back on the sidelines, did not just feel like victory. It was victory, as the Colts made their loudest emotional statement in a season that has been filled with them.

Two weeks after being mauled 29-17 by Houston, a score that didn?t truly reflect how badly outplayed the Colts were, Andrew Luck & Co. handed the Texans their third loss in their past four games, a 28-16 decision.

Coming off a 2-14 campaign in 2011 that netted them Luck as the No. 1 draft choice, the Colts finished at 11-5 and demolished the 12-4 Texans? hopes of home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

All Houston needed was a win in this last game to lock up the No. 1 seed in the Super Bowl tournament. As it turned out, victories by both the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos knocked the Texans all the way down to the No. 3 seed, which means they don?t even get a bye in the first round.

The game had no effect on the Colts? playoff standing (they?ll go in as the No. 5 seed in the AFC) but it did give them some much-needed momentum. After two lacklustre games in a row, the Colts were by far the sharper outfit and will go into next week on a high they share with their inspirational coach.

?The minute you get the diagnosis, it?s like getting hit across the head with a baseball bat,? said Pagano. ?You feel helpless, you feel powerless because you can?t do a thing about it.?

It was even worse that Pagano had to sit back and watch games on TV.

?I had to watch a game with my wife for the first time in 24 years of marriage,? he said. ?I love her to death but I don?t want to watch any more games with her and I?m sure she doesn?t want to watch with me either.?

When Pagano started treatment, the Colts were 1-2 after three games. In the meantime, under Arians, the Colts won nine of their next 12

?I told them, ?What you guys have done, am I shocked? You know I?m not.? This is what we talked about from day one,? he said. ?They just went out and did it.?

So solid all season long, the Texans are a bit of a mess right now. The Colts burned them for two huge plays in the second half that sealed the win. After Houston had taken a 16-14 lead on a 37-yard field goal late in the third quarter, Deji Karim returned the ensuing kickoff 101 yards to put Indianapolis up 21-16.

Early in the fourth quarter, Luck applied the back-breaker when he completed a 70-yard TD pass to rookie T. Y. Hilton.

When Arian Foster ran in for a third-quarter TD from 14 yards out, it was Houston?s first TD in their previous eight quarters.

Last week Luck surpassed Cam Newton?s NFL rookie passing yards record and added 184 yards Sunday to extend his own record to 4,235 yards.

BIG DAY, LITTLE COMFORT

The Tennessee Titans put on a record-setting display Sunday afternoon in their season finale, but it didn?t do much to take the sting off another lousy season in Nashville.

Return man Darius Reynaud and rookie linebacker Zach Brown each scored a pair of touchdowns, Reynaud on two punt returns and Brown on two interception returns in a 38-20 victory over the pathetic Jacksonville Jaguars.

With Jacksonville leading 14-7 late in the second quarter, Brown picked off a Chad Henne pass and ran it back 79 yards to tie the game. A moment later Reynaud returned a punt 79 yards to give Tennessee its halftime lead.

Early in the third quarter, Reynaud ran back another punt, this one from 81 yards to build a 14-point lead. Less than a minute later, Brown grabbed his second pick-six, taking it back 30 yards. In all, Henne threw three picks on the day as the Jags lost for the 12th time in their last 13 games to drop to 2-14.
